My Aunt will be participating in the Weekend to End Women’s Cancers event in Edmonton this August. Formerly called the Weekend to End Breast Cancer, this event is a two-day, 60-kilometre or one-day 30 kilometre walk through the neighbourhoods of Edmonton.
If you would like to Donate to this event on behalf of my Aunt please visit her profile on the Weekends site at Darlene Popik. Here is an excerpt of why she participates in such a great cause.
“This will be my 5th year with the Weekend to End Breast Cancer and 4th year walking. I continue to be a part of this weekend because of the inspiration I get from my friend Andrea. She is the one that should be admired and congratulated for being such a fighter. Andrea has continued to inspire me to be a better person and walking the 60 km is the very least I feel I can contribute to this cause. I am lucky because Andrea is a fighter and continues to register for the Weekend to End Breast Cancer each year along with me. My journey is easy compared to Andrea’s, so as long as she continues to fight her battle, I will continue to walk.
Andrea keep being our Miracle Girl!
U go girl!!!!!”
